PHACE-IT is governed by a Board of Directors who are committed and motivated to spread public health awareness to teens. The Board is responsible for establishing policies and furthering the organization’s mission to expose teens to public health careers through education, outreach, and leadership.

 
 

Latoya Johnson, MPH, MCHES®


Latoya Johnson, Co-Founder and President of PHACE-IT, is a Social Scientist and Program Evaluator, where she plans and implements public health practice initiatives, designs public health program evaluations, and develops public health messages for a variety of audiences. In previous work, Latoya served as a Health Educator, where she acted as a curriculum specialist. Latoya has over a decade of experience working with youth through mentorship programs and teaching. She has facilitated numerous workshops, focus groups, and health education classes on topics ranging from behavioral health to nutrition. In her spare time, Latoya enjoys helping others in community settings, spending time with family, and traveling.

Latoya holds a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree with a concentration in Community Health and Prevention from Drexel University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is also credentialed as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist by the National Commission for Health Education.


Moronke Johnson, MPH

Moronke Johnson, Co-Founder and Vice President of PHACE-IT, is a dedicated public health professional with experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating various public health projects in order to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. She is a Health Scientist, where she conducts and supports research to address public health issues in the U.S. In previous work, she served as a Social Science Research Analyst, where she developed policies and conducted quantitative and qualitative research in order to optimize the health, safety, and quality of life for people living in nursing homes. In her spare time, Moronke enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and traveling.

Moronke holds a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree with a concentration in Health Management and Policy from Drexel University, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the George Washington University.


Vanessa ALLEN, MPH

Vanessa Allen serves as PHACE-IT’s Outreach Coordinator. She is a dedicated public health professional and epidemiologist with experience in a wide range of epidemiological practices, such as program design, implementation, and evaluation; public health monitoring and surveillance; and data analysis, interpretation, and dissemination. Previously, Vanessa worked with the health department to develop, present, and evaluate health education and healthy eating programs for hundreds of grade school students to promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention. She currently serves as an epidemiologist, where she acts as a "disease detective" and investigates patterns and causes of disease and injury in military populations. She has over seven years of demonstrated success in public health practice and epidemiology methods. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and taking road trips.

Vanessa holds a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from James Madison University.
